Catfish?? Well, I've been thinking about this one place near Marietta. I can't recall the name, but that billboard is probably still standing on northbound I-35 near Marietta. I'd like to venture out there someday.
Whoops, that's not in Tulsa. Sorry. Do you guys know of any good catfish specialty places in and around Tulsa?? [NOTE: Red Lobster doesn't count.]

Hello Tulsa! I am from Tulsa - born and raised. My hubby's job moved us to the Carolina's a couple of years ago. Anyway - I just had to chime in here and say Freddies Steakhouse on Hwy 66 toward Sapulpa. They have the best tabouli EVER!! I miss it so much that I tried to talk my brother to smuggle some on the plane the last time he came to visit me! LOL!! Also, Spudder Restaurant. I can not believe no one has mentioned the Spudder and their famous Potato Soup!!! YUM!!

Good find, Synopsis. And that Marietta place is, indeed, McGehee's. That's it. Now, in looking at the catfish site for OK, I'm surprised that there was no entry for Owasso. I could have sworn that on my last visit to Tulsa, I looked in the yellow book, and there was one catfish listing for Owasso. They may have since shut down, but I don't really know.

Middle-Eastern Food
I just wanted to say that I recently moved to Tulsa and was looking for Middle-Eastern restaurants but there aren't any. I ate at two places claiming to serve Lebanese and Syrian appetizers like hummus, tabbouli and cabbage rolls. They were discusting and I actually felt angry at the misrepresentation that this garbage was middle-eastern food as I am sure that many American people have eaten there and either thought it was discusting, too and now think that they don't like middle-eastern food, or the other scenario is that they actually eat it because they don't know how it is really supposed to taste. Both restaurants' middle-eastern appetizers were not even close to authentic. I know - I cook authentic middle-eastern food and ate at various mid-east restaurants in Dearborn, MI (the Arab capital of the U.S. ) at least once a month. So, the point of my posting is that if you are looking for good middle-eastern food at a restaurant in Tulsa, there aren't any. I have heard that there is a pita bread bakery called Shawkats, but I haven't tried it yet. There is also a Syrian dessert place that makes baklava called muhanna off of 71st in a plaza behind Reasors, but I also haven't tried it yet. The best idea I have for you is to go to Jerusalem Market in Tulsa (a middle-eastern grocery store) and get the ingredients you need to make your own hummus and tabbouli, etc. A cookbook I really like is: "A taste of Lebanon: Cooking today the Lebanese Way" by Mary Saloum.

Yes, there are. We just don't share them with everyone. And don't expect them to be high end classy with table cloths and waiter with tails on restaurants. The good ones are mom and pop shops that sell home made baklava and Persian Ice cream and have middle eastern soccer on the tv in the corner. If you play nice we MIGHT share their names and locations.....

What do you expect? Lebanese and Syrian appetizers? About like reviewing Taco Bell as though it is genuine Tex Mex.........or complaining that, after having tried McDonalds and BK that there are no hamburgers in the city.

I've eaten Middle Eastern food in Tulsa, and it was delicious. Like GP said, if you're nice, we might share them with you.
And geez, I wonder why the middle eastern capital of the US would have so many Middle Eastern restaurants? Moving to Tulsa and expecting to find a plethora of Middle Eastern restaurants is kind of like moving to Dubai and expecting to find a Wendy's on every corner.
