Here is one place NOT to go. The Delta Cafe.
Apparently they are opening another one in Owasso, but don't waste your time or money.
The food is mediocre (at best) and the waitstaff needs training, including being taught to wear clean aprons. The one on our "server" had about 3 weeks worth of filth on it.

WOW, we've gone to this Delta cafe in Owasso several times, each time the food has been excellent and the wait staff the same! Just because one location may not meet your expectations don't think all of their establishments will be the same!

I'd have to disagree with that, my friend. I've never had any problems with the Delta Cafe. I am sorry that you've had a bad experience there. Things happen, and I'm sure that was just a one-shot deal. But I've always liked that place. Maybe the one in Owasso will be better than the location you visited.

Oooh I agree!! I hate The Delta Cafe!!! Their food was just disgusting, when I ate there. Won't go back again, either.. lol
There's a couple other places I wouldn't recommend, either.. Every time I have eaten there, the meat has come back raw- even CHICKEN... raw chicken, raw beef, raw eggs... I can't stand the place.. It's called DUFFY'S.... I would never recommend Duffy's to anyone, ever! --- Or The Village Inn diner place... I went there once with some family from out of town (it was really late) & the same thing happened.. I ordered a taco salad & my beef came back raw (i am not talking under cooked, either, i mean flat out raw), so I sent it back & had another one, made with chicken this time.. The chicken one came back raw, too.... So I sent it back & just didn't eat that night. lol The managers at both places were really sorry & gave everyone I was with a big discount, since I refused their offer for free food & said I didn't plan on eating there again. Another place with bad food would be Tally's Cafe. :/ Not my cup of tea AT ALL.
I WOULD recommend:
Lana Thai: At either location, the food is excellent. The one on 51st & Memorial is beautiful. If it's your birthday, they bring you a fried plantain/banana- they also have live music on the weekends & it's never been crowded when I've went. I go there for my birthday every year, because it's my favorite place to eat!
Al's Bistro: Al's Bistro has really yummy Mediterranean dishes & great service.
As far as stuff to do goes..... TravelOK.com:* Events Search < There's a big list of stuff to do there!

Great post for me, really useful info. For sure will be referring to it next spring when I start 'trippin'. OK will be the second state I stop in on my way to CA. With all that I may need to plan an extended stay. Thanks for the info.

Lanna Thai is about 76th and Memorial. There is a good Thai buffet at 36th and Harvard. The Shish-ka-bob at 21st and Garnett is pretty good for Persian food. Helen of Troy on Lewis around 67th is good Mediterranean..........what all did you have in mind?
