My question is this and it is in regards to call centers since they seem to the most posted jobs. There are some companies that have running ads. Is it that these companies cannot keep help or are they just expanding so much they need more help. It seems to me that when one applies to one of these companies one does not ever get a response. As for myself I have had over 15yrs experience in a call center and am looking again so it is not lack of experience or bad presentation as I do great with testing and the interviews. Some of these companies and I won't mention who I have applied to at least 3 or more times, however when I see the caliber of people (and not all people mind you)that do get these jobs I am quite puzzled. What is it exactly these companies are looking for?

Sadly, noticed the same thing at Data Exchange....saw first hand lots of decent folks run off by attitude of person in HR....could that be why there is such high turnover there?

Call centers are strange places anyway.

I could never fathom a company placing unskilled, minimum wage, revolving door people in charge of customer service.

If I call Westinghouse and get your basic call center drone, the way I'm treated shapes my perception of the company.

Some call centers (Canon) are fabulous, others (Dell) aren't worth the time it takes to call.
