Default Discoveryland Theatre in Tulsa

Back in the 80's I attended an outdoor performance of Oklahoma! at Discoveryland. It was an outdoor theatre somewhere in Tulsa. Is it still there?

Default Discoveryland! Woo Hoo!

This is truly one of the most overlooked assets in Tulsa! It's absolutely wonderful, in mission, value, and fun! No, I don't work for them!

We go once a year without fail! Go early for a nice dinner of steak and the fixings. Watch Indian dancers, roping, and other exhibits. Then head for the outdoor ampitheatre for a warm up show and then a live rendition of "Oklahoma!" or "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers."

These are theatre students from all over the US who come here, audition, and if selected, perform various roles in both plays for the summer.

This is truly one of the best, family outings that Tulsa offers. People are nice and friendly, screaming kids are removed when they start up, the audience singing along with the cast. It's truly remarkable.

Oh yes, and don't forget the brownies/ice cream and berries/cream at intermission!

My mother and father really loved going there , but I like the hipper Broadway Plays Musicals Road Touring Companies.....But if you want to see good Theater you can't go wrong by going there...and by the way they probably will never go out of Businees.
