Default How is the nightlife in Tulsa?

I'm heading to Tulsa on Saturday just for the day to visit a friend who just moved there and I'm wondering where the good bars are. I'm not into clubs at all. Just a down to earth great bar to hang out at. Any suggestions?

You might try the Blue Dome District.

Blue Dome District - Tulsa, OK

Or just about any of the bars along Brookside.

Brookside | The Place to Be in Tulsa, Oklahoma!

This place looks kinda neat.
Home Page

Or maybe here.
BruHouse | Great Food. Great Bru. | I Love That Place!

I haven't been to a bar in Tulsa (or pretty much anywhere else) in 20 years, so I'm sure Sgrizzle or someone that lives in Tulsa can be a much better help.

I hope you have a great time in T-Town!

Default McNellie's Pub

Just 1 block from the Blue Dome you will find McNellies Pub.
Very nice place with over 100 types of beers and awesome burgers.

Thanks for the feedback. McNellie's looks great. I love a great bar with that kind of bar list.

Is the beer they sell in that pub the stronger variety or the 3.2 beer they sell in the stores in Oklahoma? Just curious; it looks like a fantastic place.

Default Beer Strength

I have not had a domestic beer at McNellie's so I do not know what strength those are.

I do know that many of their imported ones are pretty big beers. Some of the Belgian and IPA beers go up to 12%. One of the Russian beers, Red East Classic is 9%. I also like the Chimay beers (served in traditional glasses) they are fairly alcoholic, ~10%, but you can hardly taste it.

If you prefer something milder or know someone who does not like the traditional beer they have a nice selection of Lindeman's Lambics (fruitty beers, 7 years to brew).

Good wiskey menu, on a recent birthday I had a 25 year old Scotch (very smooth).

Also, there is always a weekly beer special ($2.50 -$3) and on Wednesdays after 5pm the Charburger with pub (or curly fries) is only $3.

Anyway, I guess I can safely say this is my favorite place for a burger and a brew.

Default El Guapo's

Forgot to mention. The owners of McNellies also opened El Guapos right across the street fairly recently. It is a 3 story brick (warehouse looking building) serving very good Mexican style food. Coolest thing, Rooftop dining and bar on warm days.
