I just moved away from Oklahoma. I was raised in Sand Springs, a suburb of Tulsa. I would give my back teeth to be back there!
Tulsa is a wonderful town, large, but not too large. It's easy to learn your way around there quickly. There's a massive undertaking to make the city even more beautiful and culturally diverse. There are trees and grass and lakes and parks and fantastic people.
And now I'm making myself long for home again, so I'll stop. Like Synopsis, I am fairly well-traveled. I was brought up and educated in Sand Springs, and I don't think I'm much worse for it!
Like many people have said, there's good and bad everywhere. "Backwards" people can be found in every city. That's what happens, I guess, when you throw free will into the mix!
Home is where your heart is, and Oklahoma is and shall always be home to me.

He's going under Manhattan-ite now, and he's already after me. And Synopsis.

I am NOT that person you think I am, Sooner. I live in Manhattan, New York. Obviously. I post a lot about Manhattan. Obviously. I kind of knew you were not "fairly well-traveled", but it's OK, as in "Oklahoma is OK", you know what I mean.
I despise Texas and I give intelligent, information-filled answers, not bashing for bashing's sake. You're dead wrong.
Sallybell, your answers are similar to my answers, as in the one to the Englishwoman who's moving to Tulsa and asks about walking in the city and not having a car. You told her, "yes, you need a car". I told her, "yes, you need a car". Because Tulsa is not a walkable city. And yet these fanatics of marketing prey on me like I'm some kind of terrorist while not saying a word about you.
What is with this selective hatred?
You tell me, the Englishwoman asks about walking and a car and this Synopsis member posts a huge picture of the Gilcrease museum! What's that for? Why don't we focus on the question asked?
About the thread: Tulsa is not poor, at all (although it has its pockets of poverty as every city in the world, and a big growing problem with meth and meth addicts).
Backward (defined as "anti progressive, slow in intellectual development")? Definitely! And proudly so.

That's too funny.
I did the "Find Your Spot" quiz and it brought up Tulsa. I don't think I will move to Tulsa on an online quiz's suggestin but what is Tulsa like?
The thing that would flip me out about OK is the tornadoes!

Well I was raised in Broken Arrow...moved to Parker Colorado..very ritzy state BTW...making 70 grand a year...so I would say not all of us are backwards...and just cause we live in Oklahoma does not mean we are poor and missing teeth.
