How are the schools, resturants and shopping?

I couldn't tell you. Tulsa is close by, and the schools, restaurants, and shopping are exceptional there though. However, if you are from San Francisco, Dallas, or New York, it is all relative. Tulsa doesn't compare to those places in shopping. But, I'll take Tulsa over any of those places any day in terms of quality of life..

Skiatook is a nice little community away from Tulsa. Most shopping is done outside of the town though. More in Tulsa or Owasso.

We are looking to move our young little family outside of Tulsa and are heavily considering Skiatook. I have only heard good things thus far and we feel it has potential to become an even better community. I have not heard much about the schools. Only that they had a bad apple superintendent. Any thoughts on this topic would be much appreciated!

If you have a reason for considering Skiatook, nothing will sway you.

Where are you moving from? If you're moving from a big metropolitan area, our definition of shopping and restaurants will be hugely different than yours.

Your answer and what you're looking for will determine our answers!

Skiatook Lake is a beautiful lake just west of the city (about 5 miles from downtown Skiatook). It's also just 25 miles from Tulsa.

An excellent fishing lake, too.
