Default Relocating to Tulsa

I currently live in California. My husband and I and our children intend to move to the South Tulsa area. We were looking at Owasso, Jenks, and Bixby communities. I was hoping to get information about these communities.

California is very stratified, and we would be interested in communities that aren't very status oriented.

For instance, I see that there are areas with Tulsa addresses that attend Jenks schools. From what I can see, Jenks addresses are associated with higher property values. In my community, residents of more affluent communities often attempt to have school district boundaries redrawn to exclude less affluent residents. Status and exclusivity reign supreme here.

Can anyone give me some insight?

Thanks a million!

Jenks is a great school district and you will pay for it through property taxes. Bixby and Owasso are nice too although I believe Owasso is in a stage where they are trying to keep up with growth. That is good and bad. Good because people are moving to the city and bad because of overcrowding. It is a great community though. I personally graduated from the Broken Arrow School District south and east of Tulsa and thought it was superb. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

well if I was moving to tulsa and did not want to be "stratified" I would not look at Jenks or even South Tulsa.

Bixby at one time was not to bad but development over the past 10 years have overtaken the havenots

Owasso has had huge growth with all classes of homes

the unstratified communities "where you dont need to drive a lexux to school" would be along the western and northern fringes of the metro, these would include Sapulpa, Sand Springs, Skiatook and Collinsville

These communities still have rural/ranching closeby, with bluecollar, whitecollar and executive

homes are availabe from 40k to 1mill, intermixed with mid and upperend homes.

all of the suburban schools are pretty good, taxes in these communitys could be 1/2 of the jenks bixby area
