moving to tulsa
I wanted to say hello! My daughter and I are moving to Tulsa due to relocation hopefully by the beginning of August. Or sooner if i find a place to live. My daughter is 13 and is not to happy about the idea of moving to Oklahoma, but I hope once we are there she will change her mind. I hope this is a good move and we will be happy here. was from Colorado, then moved to California and I want so bad to move out of there.

Let us know when you get here. Maybe we can help you find your way around.
What kind of place are you looking for? Is it just you and your daughter? or are there others in the family.
What part of Colorado were you in?

I will be moving up hopefully the first week of August. I lived in Colorado Springs. And its just me and my daughter. Looking for a rent to own home for just me and my daughter. my budget is under 700 a month.
Thank you for your reply.

If you are considering schools, Broken Arrow Public Schools is a great district just south and east of Tulsa. You can check it out online at Broken Arrow Public Schools- Broken Arrow, Oklahoma

Thank you, definitely want a school that is good for my daughter and not so much crime. I am from a small town. Hope she fits in. I think she will be find she has a very easy time making friends, she is very friendly. Me on the other hand is very shy and i have a difficult time making friends. Hopefully that wont be the case once i feel comfortable.

Rent to own for under $700 is going to be tough to find. I don't know of any of the newer neighborhoods (built since 1980) where you can find that kind of housing. The "old town" parts of most of the bedroom communities have housing where that would be possible. Look in the older parts of Sapulpa, Collinsville, Broken Arrow, Owasso, Claremore, Skiatook, Sand Springs, Beggs, Mounds, Coweta, Inola, Catoosa, Verdigris, Oolagah, Talala, etc.
Are you going to be working? If so, what kind of job will you be looking for?

Yes I am relocating due to a job as well as a choice. I have seen several rent to own options under 700 not sure where its a good area or not though is my problem. The cost of living has to be better then california. I will look into those areas you have posted. My Job is in Tulsa itself. Once i have more info on location in Tulsa then i will post.

DM me some addresses and I will give you the basic info on them. You can also use google maps to locate the addresses and then check the Tulsa Police Dept for the crime statistics.

I need some info on an address/location. 5101 East 32nd St. I was told that this was the "ghetto" but I am not sure how reliable that source is. Could some of you please give me your opinions on this area?
Thanks in advance.

5101 East 32nd St is a 2265 sf house on a 9865 sf lot, built in 1971. It has 4 baths and a 2 car garage, and tax records show it as being worth about $100,000. It is in the Twin Acres Subdivision.
There were no sales of properties in the subject subdivision in the past 6 months, and there are currently no active listings.
In the section of the subject, which is bisected by the Broken Arrow Expressway, there are 9 properties listed, ranging in list price from $112,000 to $335,000 with an average list price of $187,993 for an average square footage of 2176 sf.
In the section of the subject there were 7 sales in the past 6 months, with selling prices ranging from $85,000 to $225,000 for an average sale price of $135,400 after 76 days on the market for an average of 1957 sf house.
All information is based on MLS data.
It does not appear to be "ghetto" to me, although there are some houses that are more run down than others. Although this is an area that has some older homes from the 40's in it, they are predominately mid 60's to mid 70's. That being the case, each house would have to be looked at for individual condition...it would be presumptive to assume condition or locational attributes without a physical inspection. As I recall, this house would sit behind the Celebrity Club, an old time upscale restaurant, and would be near Saide Music Company, Tulsa's oldest music store. It would lie north of Southroads Mall at 41st and Yale, and will back up to the Broken Arrow Expressway. Depending on the price, the house could be worth investing in. I would have no qualms about living there.
