I'm so glad you posted that, Synopsis. I was wondering what was going on because Tulsa is one of the places on my list when I check out the weather in the morning. It kept flashing about severe storm warnings.

I also hope everyone is safe and well.

NOT a big deal. Mannford got hit with a little hail.....that would be little as in not much, a few people lost windshields, so the hail itself wasn't little.........everyone else got a fairly heavy breeze for 20 minutes and a little rain.

Of course the weather reporters made it sound like we were facing another flood and no one had an ark or collected two of everything.

One of the nice things about this country, we had a heavy rain, followed by a heavy wind that dried thing out a bit. Now I am going to go out and burn a couple of brush piles (there currently is NO wind, and the surrounding grasses are all nice and soaked). Like I've said before, you can worry yourself sick over what might happen, but for the most part, it's all good..........make that "it's ALL good."

Did I mention the sun is out and shining? and the rain cooled things off nicely?

We got clobbered yesterday...
A tornado came down nearby and took out our power
for 23 hours... Thankfully, no one was hurt...

It came back on this morning just as 2 more big storms passed through...
That was exciting.

On the bright side, I got to meet a few neighbors when I went to help
the folks across the street remove a giant tree limb that was blocking their driveway...

Another neighbor came by with a battery-powered Sawsall and we got the place cleaned up in about an hour....

I packed a cooler and the freezer full of ice (after the 6th hour without power), so most of our food stayed good...

Turns out that the neighbor's son is also a musician, so we all had an acoustic jam on the porch for entertainment.

Then we had a pork loin dinner on the grill...
(It wasn't frozen and would have gone bad otherwise.)
Then I forced everyone to eat the gallon of icecream that was going to melt....
(I really had to twist some arms.)

It was inconvenient, but definitely not boring....
Ended up meeting some nice folks.

Things are back to normal for now, but we're going
to get some serious heat and humidity starting tomorrow....
Followed by more storms this week...

Tulsa is not a boring place to live.

Oh....
Forgot to mention...

The transformer at the back of the property sent out a shower of sparks
during the 2nd storm, (looked like a fireworks display and the electric company was not taking calls, so we couldn't report it... The electric seems OK so far...
We'll see...

Also had the power go out briefly while I was on the phone with "Tex"....
He got to hear about the fireworks display right before everything went dead.

When the power came back on this morning, it looked like the 2nd storm was nailing you guys pretty well according to Ch. 6... Glad all is OK...
(Pun intended.)

Looks like you're going through a trial by fire -- or is it a trial by storm?

I wish it was the worst trial I've ever been through or will go through.

Just lost the cable & Internet for 15 minutes...
It's not a good weekend for modern technology...

That was a whale of a storm that blew through there. I was on the phone with CG and heard a big SNAP, CRACKLE, and then CG's phone went nighty night.

You are being indoctrinated into Oklahaoma real proper like CG. A couple of ice storms this Winter and you should get your Okie certificate..

Yeah, that was quite a little storm...
Even sounded cool through the phone.

Ice storms are normal where I'm from...
I just hope I don't have to drive home through one down here...
The highway departments in this region are not properly tooled up for it.
