Owasso- church question
Were moving there exactly 1 month from today, I'm looking for a layed back, biblicie(sp) based baptist church one thats contempory in singing and doesn't care if its female memmbers wheres jeans on Sunday mornings.

I think Garth Brooks and Trish go to the Collinsville Free Will Baptist, You will find a LOT of pretty good churches in the area, though. Most of them will have a contemporary as well as traditional services.
A couple of notable churches.....Church on the Move (Church on the Move - Tulsa, OK ) at I244 and 129th east Ave.......a major church that was developed off a childrens ministry. Pentacostal, but not in your face about it. excellent youth programs, a western movie set for a kids camp on the shores of Lake Hudson. They have a narrow gauge railroad, they've made several movies there including some starring Kenneth Copeland. Carman has used it for a set. In fact, when Carman's home was in Tulsa, this was his home church. They have a youth department and ministry that is second to none (the Oneighty Club). A private school, excellent homeschool support groups, recreational facilities (multiplex ball diamond, an impressive football stadium etc). Most importantly they preach the Bible clearly, accurately, and faithfully (that is one of the reasons the church has grown over the past 15 years from a membership of maybe 50 to closer to 15,000). GUTS Church is another unique ministry. Hard rock music combined with soild Biblical teachings. Bills message has always been directed at the youth of the city. GUTS Church's "Tougher than Hell" Bike rally is a pretty beautiful thing. Their "Nightmare" Halloween haunted house is the best I've ever seen. Thats the thing there are so many we have always gone to a baptist church, I was kinda choosing those 4 to choose frome since they were the closes(sp)

That is where I was raised too, but too often the polity and politics got in the way of faith. I pastored a SBC mission for a while a few years ago, and I have NEVER had the problems in business that I had there. Consequently, although I adhere largely to Hobbs, I have some significant differences that prevent me from belonging there any more.
Good luck on your search. My only suggestion is to visit each of them more than once (make sure you attend at least ONE Wednesday night service.......that is where you meet the core of the church) and find the one that "fits."
