For boxes, go to stores and ask when would be a good time to pick up boxes. They are constantly getting in shipments which arrive in boxes. THese boxes get broken down and crushed unless someone takes them. They are always free, come in a variety of sizes, and you'd be re-using, which is good for the environment. (after you are finished with them, post on your city's craigslist that you have free moving boxes and someone else will show up to haul them off for you.
For extra strong boxes, go to liquor stores. For packing material, ask your neighbors for their newspapers (after they've read them, of course). Want bubble wrap? Go to electronics stores and ask if they have any that came in a shipment that's going to be thrown away. |
