Default Auction Addiction????

Can one become addicted to auctions?

My BFF and I have gone to the auction west of Mannford twice now and are hooked! I bought two Remington brass sculptures for my hubby last night, and I never really liked them. But they look great in his office. But I had no plans to put bronzes in there, until I saw them and they were so cheap!!

Does anyone else have this affliction?

I haven't been to an auction. I rarely pass up a garage/estate sale even if I don't buy anything. I think it is a good "get away" from it all.

YES, I'm going to tell on DH, but he is definitely addicted to auction sales and rummage sales. One of his favorite things to do is to go and buy out abandoned storage units, too. Of course, most of his finds are junk, but you'd be surprised of the things he's actually discovered in them. Of course, once his accumulations get too large, he just keeps his most prized possessions back and you guessed it~HE has a rummage sale. He's actually made some pretty decent sideline cash with his addiction/hobby.

On the other hand, I find auction sales boring and don't like rummage sales either. I'm VERY unmaterialistic and only like essential things~well, except for my computer. That's MY addiction.

Has anyone ever been to the Haskell auction? I have seen their items online (Home), but I've never been to the actual auction. I would love to hear what it's like.

I'd forgotten all about that place. Me and my OL used to go a hundred years ago....it was quite fun and I found some good bargains too!

Just went again and had a ball!

Also heard about one on Highway 412 around Choteau. First Saturday of the month - said it was HUGE!

Looked at their site and figure it might be fun!

Default Varnell's Auction

the only one I know is www.varnellsauction.com They post pics the week before the sale, which is every two weeks.

The other is Chubbs near Inola, but couldn't find them with minimal googling!

Thanks for that. I will have to check it periodically and see what they have.

For those of you interested in coin collecting, it looks like the Haskell auction has a really large collection coming up for their auction on November 8th. http://www.haskellauction.com
