Default A great party.....an even greater cause

Wine, Eats & Easels: A Broken Arrow Wine Tasting Event benefiting BA Neighbors.

This event raised funds for a private non-profit interfaith organization that provides basic need emergency assistance to more than 17,000 financially disadvantaged people in the Broken Arrow and Coweta area.

About 15 local restaurants had booths where they shared canapes (everything from coconut shrimp and chicken teriyaki from places like Bonefish or Thyme to hot wings from Hooters) with guests, as well as about 20 winery's, liquor wholesalers, and brewery distributors providing tastes of a wide range of alcoholic beverages. Some of the drinks were relatively common, like the Jamison I order whenever possible. To Pendleton Canadian, to a Wyoming Liquor (a little too cinnamony for my taste). A magnificent variety of wines.....sherat, merlot, cab's, chardonney's, etc. Lots of imported beer (some from California, some from Chechoslavakia and Belgium). More than 20 artists showed up to display their talents.

It was all held at the new farmers market/historical society building.

Some of the bronze cast statuary offered for sale with the live band in the background, by the new Historical Museum Building:

Sequoyah statue:

Will Rogers statue:

Wood bowls:

Art for sale:

3D wall hanging art

Light show on the elevator:

Historical Museum Building:

Will Rogers coming alive to the shock of passers by......turned out to be a "living statue":

That's a pretty cool event. I like the "living statue."

Yeah, that statue scared the daylights out of one waiter who walked closely by and all of a sudden had Will Rogers stick his hand out.

Good thing he wasn't carrying anything breakable .....
