Default Tulsa Forum Members Get Together

Hi,

I thought I would start this thread in hopes that it would give some of the Tulsa forum members a chance to get together for lunch on Fridays (or whenever).

Please, post your favorite restaurants, hangouts, or whatever to get together for any occasion.

Sgrizzle, perhaps you could suggest a location where people could get together. You're a Tulsa native, and valued member of these forums?

LeaveWI, keep an eye on this thread as it will give you the opportunity to meet up with some great Tulsa members!

Have at it folks!

I grew up in Sand Springs just west of Tulsa....so here are a few of my favorite restaurants

Chimi's Mexican Restaurant
Casa Bonita
Brownies (on Harvard, I think?) great root beer and burgers
Interurban

Those are the ones I remember off the top of my head. I'm sure some more will come to mind as I keep thinking about it.

I wish I was there!!!! Casa Bonita is (was?) a great for LARGE gatherings - and reasonable and fun. Used to do it a lot. Maybe not the best Mexican food in the world but a fun place. The cafeteria style makes it really easy for huge groups. Not a bunch of ordering hassels and waitpstaff hassels. Also everyone can talk and not worry about bothering anyone else, because they all do it! AND I don't remember ever being "rushed" because they wanted to turn the table!!! I was just thinking of it the other day and wondered if it was still there. Hopefully, this means it is.

Like I said, I'm ready and wish I was there already.

We ate at a fun place today. The 5 and Diner www.5anddiner.com at 36th and Memorial next to that big Harley dealership.

It was a neat place, the lunch special was not expensive and the food was decent. It is new (or at least new to me) but it looks like something out of the 1950's and the waitresses dress that way.

Default Lunch in Tulsa

I'd recommend we go for downtown, as it's 'central' for everyone around Tulsa.

With that in mind, and considering cost and size:

Spaghetti Warehouse
or
Mexicali

It'd be fun to meet others, so count me in!

kclare is on a distinguished road
I have just moved to Tulsa in the last month, and am really liking it. I started reading this Tulsa forum about 5 months ago, just never registered until today.

It would be great to have an opportunity to meet some of the great people I've been reading on this forum! I'll keep an eye on this in case y'all decide to get together...

If anyone is interested, members of a certain other forum are getting together (including myself) for lunch at the new Joe Momma's downtown on Monday.
