Tulsa Native, Paul Harvey passes............
Caught it on the news tonight. I guess it was to be expected, Angel passed last spring.
I got to talk to him about 15 years ago. My grandparents were having their 75th wedding anniversary and he called to talk to them....congratulate them on a marriage that had lasted 3/4 of a century. The phone rang, I answered, and that distinctive voice asked if Dal and Lucy Goodpasture were available. I called granny (she was always the excitable one) and told her the local radio wanted to interview her. You should have seen her eyes get big when he told her who he was and that he wanted to congratulate her. Grandpa was always more matter of fact about it... he said hi, thanks, goodbye.....but he talked about it for months after that.
Anyhow, although I was not real fond of his politics, I will miss him.....he was a part of AM radio for all my life..........
