I have to say, however, that their DSL sucks big time. But you don't have to bundle their DSL with the television service.

Wouldn't matter if I had more; I can't get UVerse and don't want it. I've done enough in-depth research about it to have heard about the compression in HD which makes the picture look terrible, if you have internet might as well accept the fact your speeds will drop while watching HD and more. I've had Cox for 10 years with no problems and AT&T screwed me over when I had DSL in 2000 and are still trying to collect on a final payment that I've even showed them evidence that I paid.

That said, do your research on ANY method of internet/phone/cable you may choose. Just because one person has issues doesn't mean you will.

BTW, Cox isn't a contract either; you sign up month to month just as easily.

How many HD televisions does a person need? I don't have a single HD set and don't care if I never have one.

Cox for Internet. For tv, well depends what you're looking for. For me, tv is not a big deal I have Cox everything, bundled. The phone is on the high end, but you get unlimited long distance, which we use. If you have a cell phone, maybe that doesn't matter. My experience with Cox has been good, but I can't speak for everyone. I've only had on problem with my modem in a year and they came out the same day I called within 4 hours and gave me a new one. I can't speak for other services or their customer service because I haven't experienced it. Of course, I'm not in Tulsa either. I'm just speaking about my experience with Cox - so far.

Thanks techienomad, for your imput. I only realized a while ago, that from State to State the reputation of one company differs greatly. I saw that AT&T together with DirectTV has the best bundle so far. I went of whitefence.com, that website is a great help.

We've had Cox with bundle for Internet, phone service, cable TV (digital and HD) and have had no complaints and are quite happy with their service. We first tried to sign on with Windstream and that was a HUGE mistake. Whomever you choose, don't go with Windstream. Horrendous customer service. When we tried to sign up, they said they were shipping our DSL modem and the order never went through. Then I found out their so-called support was in India. No wonder I got nowhere.
