OU Decorations...
We are finally getting moved into our new house in Beggs, Oklahoma next month. My oldest daughter picked probably the most expensive decoration scheme she could find...Oklahoma University.
     OU STUFF is EXPENSIVE
Unless you can afford to shop at Woodland Hills Mall in the sports shop, kinda hard to find nice stuff too.
Any ideas? Anyone got a basement full of OU junk they want to get rid of? Ex-husband's collection? I am kidding. If you have any ideas please let me know. We have decided to do "maroon and very light beige" curtains, one wall maroon, the other 3 beige to match the curtains.
I don't want to put to much maroon into this room since she is 16 and probably will be moving out in 2 years. I figured with one wall we can do posters, wall hangings, pennants, bumperstickers..... ect.
Thanks for the ideas.
Karen

OU does not use Maroon and beige. It is Crimson and Cream.........I forget the name of the place, but there is a sports paraphernalia shop on south Memorial, around 41st or so. You should be able to get some OU stuff from walmart......fabric, blankets etc. I would do cream for the walls, maybe just the trim in crimson, some crimson curtains, do a crimson bed spread, cream sheets, paint a good quality but used dresser/dressing table cream with crimson drawer faces, find a couple of cheap OU posters and call it good.

That is about what I had decided to do. I looked at Wal Mart though and it is all Maroon and white actually.. not even Cream. The Crimson is awfully dark and Cream is pretty much white. I will shop around before we buy much.
THANKS GP!!!!!!!!

You should check Ebay. I may be breaking a law by advising someone on how to find OU stuff so I hope I don't get excommunicated or disowned or something.

Sorry, I burn anything OU I find.
But I would do along the lines of what you're doing now, you may alos look at finding some good photos of the stadium, helmets, etc and use an online service to do poster prints (NOT KINKOS)
Buy the $4 clock from walmart, take it apart (it just snaps), put some of your leftover crimson/maroon paint on the body, stick an OU sticker on the dial and voila! Instant OU clock.

I totally relate...I am an AVID OSU fan. I went to Connors State and have an Associates in Horticulture. I am an AG person much more than my daughter. She just don't know the difference.
