Jenks and Union are both excellent schools with dominant extracurricular activities in a myriad of areas.......from football to debate.

On the other hand, they are so large that good players will get cut from the highly competitve teams. If I had a kid that wanted to play football, I would seek out a small community like Catoosa, Sperry, Inola, Cleveland, etc.....a good player will get to play both sides of the ball and participate in every snap.

Hi All,
My husband and I are relocating to the Tulsa area within the next couple of months. We are from a very small town (pop. 6,000) with the largest city in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan that is less than 20,000. We know that this will definately be a culture shock for us, but fortunately we have both lived in big cities i.e., NYC, San Fran and Denver, pre-kids. We are looking for a smaller community that is safe since my boys (ages 7, 5, and 4) are used to getting on their bikes and riding around the neighborhood. We are also wanting to live in a community that has really good public schools and that is close to American Airlines. Any and all information is definately apprecieated! Thanks a bunch.

My hubby is relocating to AA in Tulsa soon. We're from Reno, NV and he's going to commute until we decide whether we want to relocate the whole family. I know absolutely NOTHING about the Tulsa area but from hanging out on the boards here we've narrowed it down to Owasso, Broken Arrow or Bixby. I'd love to "talk" with you more. I'll pop you a private message

Default Don't go Public go Private

Honestly, with all the mess that TPS is dealing with at the moment. I would highly recommend looking into a Private School. Bishop Kelly, Cascia Hall, Holland Hall,Victory,...are only a few. My child is in 5th grade and was at public school last yearm there were over 30 kids in his class! This year they stated that the numbers would only increase. I pulled him from this quickly. As a teacher, I understand the importance of small classroom sizes. Less time dealing with classroom management and more on learning. This year at the private school, he has 10 students in his class, he loves it.
He still gets that diversity factor with sports and is very active with his old friends but as far as getting a good education, I would rather have that small classroom. Jenks is a great district if you are not able to afford private.
