Raelyn, one thing you haven't asked much about on this forum is the weather. Coming from California, Oregon, and Washington, you may be set back a bit by the extreme summer heat in Oklahoma.
I just wanted to warn you!

Yep, first full day of summer and we are going to be in the upper 90s today with heat index values nearing 107. I hate to think what it's like down your way today, Syn...DFW is always hotter than here (almost always, anyway).

raelyn:
as i have said on other threads I think Bixby fit you place better then any else... growth area, good school with solid sports, not to small, things to do close by, and not huge not small, and with a large stock of homes that would fit you bill

Dekes, that is what I told her a month ago when these threads started and she didn't listen, so I gave up on her.

Sorry you feel like I didn't listen but I am just collecting a lot of different feedback. In the abundance of much counseling there is wisdom. Psalms..from the bible.
A large move like this is VERY costly and we just don't want to make any errors but your advise that was given a month ago is very important to me

I haven't asked about the weather because I already know what I am in store for. Remember I started my life in Omaha Nebraska?? I know that Tulsa is six hours south of Omaha and that means that it is hotter and even more humid. I don't like that but I guess I will have to live with it. You can't find a perfect city if you try. California had awesome weather but then there was the smog, traffic, expense, population problem, ect. Oregon was beautiful with mild winters but it rained and rained and rained. Washington is also beautiful but the people are not the friendliest even kind of depressed and the winters can be long and brutal.. We had over 6 feet of snow that stayed on the ground for over three months and turned to ice ruining our front landscaping. People couldn't get out of their driveways and the kids had to stay in school until last week because of snow days that they had to make up. So the weather...hmmm is just another minor adjustment. I'll just buy a spray bottle for my face, wear lots of deodorant, plaster my hair with hairspray or wear a baseball cap!!! Ha...

Yeah, the wind is the only thing that I don't like. It is usually just bad in the spring and some of the winter, although there are a few days in the summer and fall that can be windy. Fall is the best time of year in Tulsa. The leaves will change colors and it is beautiful.
Yeah, it gets hot. Just go inside during the hot hours and get out in the morning and evenings, just remember to water the plants often in the summer!

The weather has been strange in Washington
One day it is 88, the next day 50, then it rains... I never know what to wear from day to day... Every city has it's ups and downs. And to think that my husband had another job offer in Hawaii today... Hmmm!! I don't know what to think about all of this? But life can sure keep you guessing. Truly an adventure in every turn of the corner
