Best Hot Dog in Tulsa!
Anyone who has been to the Lowes on 15th and Yale on a sunny saturday is likely familiar with the smell of Marilu's hot dog cart in the parking lot. If you catch a drift, it's impossible to resist. Those are some dang good dogs! Does anyone know what brand she uses or where she buys these things from? Since I can't always wait until a nice weathered Saturday, I gotta know what kind of hot dogs/polish sausage she uses!!!

I remember when I was a little kid I used to love going to a place called Coney Island which had small little hot dogs with chili and cheese on them. I loved them back then.
Is this place still around?

There are now a handful of these Coney I-Lander restaurants in Tulsa and environs, all based on the formula of a small hot dog in a steamed bun topped with mustard, raw onions, and no-bean chili. Shredded cheese is a popular option; and some folks get theirs with a sprinkle of cayenne pepper.
A Coney I-Lander Coney is a two or three bite affair. Three or four are a modest meal in the single-digit price range; big eaters think nothing of having a half-dozen for lunch.

I bet she is using Nathans, they are really good, try those, see if that is it.
and as far as Coney Islander, that is my favorite, there is no beating the downtown location.

You will probably think I am out of my mind, but Quik Trip's 1/4 dog, 2 for $2.00 with a $.49 32 Ounce soft drink is the best lunch bargain out there. and for $.80 more you can put chili and cheese on both of them.
Other than that< Ikes makes a pretty good dog too........although when I go to Ike's I forget the dog and just get the chili.

Oh, Ike's Chili. He has a stand in the BOK now....
We go (some of us from work) about once a month, since it's about 6 miles from work. Their chili anything is awesome, but their Frito Pie is deelish.

The one downtown, the original, is Coney Island. Complete with the "5c Hot Weiners" sign.
Coney Islander is a local chain and semi-knock-off. Real coney Island has hot dogs with 5 possible toppings. Coney Islander sells wraps, gyros and whoknowswhat else.

I kinda like the hot dogs inside the Foster Farm Corn Dogs! I hate corn dogs, but that brand is awesome.
