Default Kathy Taylor

Why does the mayor keep running ads on TV telling us she is not running for election again? Does she want people to beg her to stay? She has already done enough damage to the taxpayers in Tulsa County!

I don't ever watch Tulsa stations so I haven't seen this but that's pretty funny.

I thought the same thing, they keep running over and over and over again! How much money does this woman want to waste just to let us know she is NOT running! I'm glad she's going to be gone. Here's a thought, take your millions and instead of shelling 10's of thousands of dollars running pointless ads, donate it to a good charity or two! For a business person as she calls herself, this is a pretty stupid business move.

Think maybe she is going to challenge Coburn?

I heard she got a job woking for the Prez. I don't think she was bad for Tulsa.

LOL at the first post. Damage to the taxpayers, good one. LOL.

Cutting the budget while in a recession isn't what I call damaging the taxpayers.

How has she "damaged the taxpayers" in TC?

I would agree. I think she's done a better job than both LaFortune or Mayor Savage.

I think people scream because they will forever tie her to Vision 2025, when it wasn't hers to begin with (Bill LaFortune A REPUBLICAN pushed that on Tulsa, which we voted for).

I think she did a lot of good for Tulsa. Has definitely kept the momentum going on the Vision 2025 projects. We still have a long way to go, but thanks to people pushing forward with bold ideas (which tends to rankle the do nothing crowd lol) we are making serious progress, even in a recession. For decades now Tulsa has been in a gradual decline. We couldnt keep doing the same things and expect that to change. Implementing the new Comprehensive Plan is going to be Tulsas next big task to keep this city moving in the right direction.

I'm in the pro-Kathy camp -- the sheer amount of things she got done in less than four years is amazing.

She's made some unwise moves (like putting a highly paid employee on staff while furloughing other city employees), but at least she makes decisions (instead of sticking with the status quo or being mired in indecsion -- like some of the previous holders of that office.)

Are those ads Public Service Announcements (PSA's)? If so, they cost the taxpayers nothing.

I have e-mailed the city on a few projects I wanted to do. (I am not anyone but a regular citizen). Mayor Taylor immediately e-mailed back an enthusiastic reply and got me with someone who would work with me.

She has been very approachable. I am not a Democrat but I voted for her and would again.

She's an aberration. She's a leader first, not a politician, like so many of those in public office are. Although it's possible she could make me a liar by running for Sully's seat or even the Senate. But even that might not be enough to turn her into a politician.

I think she's been a breath of fresh air for the community. Has she made some mistakes/missteps? Sure. Most everyone does. But she's been honest to the people, at least as far as I could tell.
