Honestly, I wouldn't stay close to the zoo. The zoo is wonderful, but that part of Tulsa isn't one of the best parts.

ok so that area is not too good?
Thanks for that.the thing is we will be leaving in the afternoon from Arkansas and want to stay the night after getting some food and then head to the zoo in the morning,i thought it would be best to stay near the zoo.
So any suggestions what to do?

It's not that the area is not too good. There are other parts of Tulsa that are more upscale, or offer other amenities or things to see and do, that to me would make those areas preferable. I've stayed at the Radisson which was very nice, but may be further from the zoo than you would like. My parents have stayed at a Guesthouse that I think is closer to the zoo. You might want to check it out.

Kids or no kids? If you have fairly young kids (say 10 or under), I suggest staying at the Radisson which is near 41st and Mingo (about 10 miles or 15 minutes from the zoo per google.) They have a small but fairly nice indoor water park that my daughters absolutely love.
If you don't have kids, then any hotel with freeway access would probably work for you since the zoo is just off OK-11.

Stay in one of the hotels in Owasso, the zoo is only 7 or 8 miles from Owasso.
