What is up with the Half Black/Half White stripes on the road? The parts I notice it on is right where I-244 starts in Sapulpa, then ends right before merging with 75... I think it may even be on parts of I-44 coming into Oklahoma from Missouri. I just cant figure it out...

Could someone shed some light on this topic for meh?

The contrast is suppose to make the lanes more noticable. Is it working?

Must be if it has people talking about it.

Those who don't know what they look like, I'm on 169 tomorrow to visit my Dad. I'll see if I can't pull off on the shoulder and take some photos.

Not a good idea, especially this weekend.

It is a new way to stripe the roads. It allows more visibility of the line in rainy conditions. ODOT is slowly implementing it all around town.

I do live here and know where and where not to do that. I've lived in this city 39 of my 42 years, so I think I'm qualified enough to know where to take the photos.

Thanks for your concern though.
