Raelyn, I was just curious. It looks like B.A. is a fairly good sized city in itself. Is there a chance that you could find a job closer to home? Personally, I hate traffic and I hate to drive in it. I know it's kinda late for me to be asking this now cause you just started your job and are getting settled in, but would there be a chance of a transfer to B.A. or could you find something right there?

Actually, I'd prefer if I could just walk to work, but that's not always an option.

The City of Broken Arrow has a great Chamber of Commerce. Broken Arrow Area Chamber of Commerce. There are more jobs in Broken Arrow than people realize.

Now that's kind of nice to know. We love Tulsa and hope to live there some day, but we've actually talked about the suburbs, too even though we know nothing about them. Well, except Jenks and that is one cool town. We are used to fewer people, less traffic, less crime, etc. then a city has to offer.

This is probably a silly question, but it's hard to tell by maps. Is Broken Arrow actually attached to Tulsa? I mean, when you're driving from B.A. to Tulsa, is it entirely one city to another or is there country/farmland/pasture inbetween them?

For the most part, they don't even have city limit signs. Unless you get stopped and get a ticket you might not know if you are in Broken Arrow, Tulsa or Bixby.

The street signs turn blue in Broken Arrow, in Tulsa they are green, that's the easiest way to know.

Transportation | PLANiTULSA

Just browsing through one of your local forums and saw a bit of chat about this and thought of Raelyn right away. It looks like Tulsa IS working on improving the traffic problems.

Yes, thanks for the website. I not only feel justified but hopeful that perhaps something will change. For the last two days in a row on Highway 169 there has been a guy in a black mustang barreling down the highway, weaving in and out of traffic at about 90+ miles and hour. We almost were hit today... Unbelievable. I am actually starting to find it amusing instead of getting mad.. And then those motorcyclists with no helmets!! Just plain dumb to ride a bike on that freeway with no protection. God help them... And Jammie thanks for your recommendation but my husband cannot leave his job right now. It would be nice but not a reality..

The biggest pet peeve I have on 169 is dump trucks that don't tarp their loads, all the while letting gravel and rocks fly out of their beds. Not good for someone who just recently purchased a brand new car.

Although I did just see one this morning who was properly tarped and made me chuckle; on the back he had stenciled 'Everyone Likes a Good Dump'....
