I love the tacos with the mystery meat paste, I always take 50 or 60 home with me back to Indiana.
I cut the ends off and heat them in the toaster. I am easily entertained.....

If it was identifiable, it wouldn't be a mystery, now, would it?

Braum's burgers are great. But their fries are weak!!! I have to have good fries. I remember In n Out in So Cal. The had double-doubles that were good.

I looked up Jack inthe Box online just to see their menu. My god, they have really tried to get all hoity-toity-fancy! All that crap on the menu nowadays!

How are their fries weak? I like their crinkle-cut fries and the fact they don't taste like they've been bathed in salt, like McDs, BK and other FF outlets.

I disagree about the weakness of the fries.

Now this is a debate worth entering into!

This is probably the 1st (and perhaps only time) I've ever disagreed with Redbird. I'm actually a fan of Braum's fries as well......but now that I think of it, there really are not any fries that I won't eat. My belt-line proves this fact.

I personally like Chick-Fil-a's waffle fries over just about any other french fried taters. Here's how I would rank 'em (best tasting fries to worst):

1. Chick-Fil-a
2. Van's Pig Stand (soft and super greasy and just awesome....same for Del Rancho for any of you Okie's that remember D-Ranch.)
3. Braums (as Big Okie said a Krinkle-Cut style)
4. Whataburger
5. In-N-Out (very good because they are fresh-cut)
6. Popeyes (spicy/Cajun style...for those of you familiar with Chicken Express I would put their fries here as well in a tie with Popeyes)
7. Arbys curly-Q style
8. Long John Silvers
9. Dairy Queen
10. Sonic
11. McDonalds
12. Wendys
13. Burger King
14. Jack-In-The-Box
15. Kentucky Fried Chicken and/or Churches Chicken

What say ya'll?

OK, I cannot remain silent any longer. Braums fries are delicious, not greasy at all. Has anyone tried their chili? MMMMM-good.

I dislike soft undercooked fries. Everytime I go to Braum's I get the fat undercooked fries. I imagine it's worse if you go during lunch rush. I don't eat fast food very often, but when I do and I am alone, I love burgers and fries over sit down family type restaurants. So, maybe its not so much Braum's fries that I hate, but UNDERCOOKED fries. bleeauch!

I like the McD's fries that are thinner and cooked to a crispness in them. I think it was Dairy Queen that never put salt on their fries. I don't really care for the steak fries either like they give you at Cracker Barrel.

Now we know what costume Bass&Catfish dressed up in for Holloween when he was a kid!

FWIW, I even don't mind the soft, greasy fries as long as they are cooked very well-done.

For the ultimate order of fries, try Jake's Ribs in Chickasha. They give you an order of fries the size of the basket they deep fry the fries in! A square block of fries about 12 X 6 X 6. I kid you not.

Okay, back on topic (before I get a Mod Smack) Jack in the Box. 1979. Downey, CA. I ruled the grill on the late night shift. Good memories.
