Yes, I have financial ties to the BOK Center.
Everytime I make a purchase in Tulsa County part of the sales tax goes to paying for it. Good enough for ya?
You're likely someone over 50 who HATES change of ANY type.

When someone says "Why did Tulsa spend money here instead of there" I immediatly understand that they have absolutely no idea how governmental finance is handled.
Even though Tulsa received money to HIRE 18 new cops, they cannot use that money to KEEP 18 cops without permission from the people who gave them the money.
City and County budgets have line items allocated and that is where that money has to go. You cannot borrow money from the parks department and use it to fill pot holes. Even if there are millions of unused money in the parks department budget, it cannot simply be transferred to roads.
Regarding the ball park, that was almost all if not all private money. Further the fairgrounds can use that land for far better use, the presence of the ball park in the Greenwood area is going to stimulate development there.....all in all, it is a good business investment that will pay off for the citizens. particularly since the citizens didn't fund it.
The BOK center is easily paying for itself. It is bringing new money into the economics of Tulsa. People from other states are coming to see people like Rod Stewart, Kiss, Paul McCartney, etc etc. They are staying the weekend and eating and visiting casinos and museums and shops. There is no significant parking problem. Go to a few shows or events and you can see what I am talking about....In Tulsa, you don't have to park 2 miles away and ride the shuttle bus. Comparing Cains to the Brady or Chapman or the PAC or any other venue is absurd. It is like comparing Ron's Hamburgers to the Rib Crib or Mahogany's. EVery one of them are excellent for what you get. You can get better within it's own venue, and comparing Ron's to Hanks can be done........but to compare Ron's to Rib Crib is silly.....they don't do the same thing except for "serving food." Same with the entertainment venues.

I don't need to know anything except that Tulsa is going to be without 20+ Police Officers and that is what matters.People are TIRED of EXCUSES made by politicians and other people who support their actions.
The bottom line is Tulsa actually needs about 100 more Police Officers for a city this size in population and Square miles.
Are you telling me that the BOK has better acoustics than the Brady Theater? You got to be kidding! My comparison was only that there are much better concert venues in Tulsa than the BOK.After all, this thread was started about the WNBA Team moving to Tulsa and playing @ the BOK and I stated facts about the other venues.

I am sorry, but criticizing without knowing the rules is simply arrogance without substance. It is actually at this point that I finally lost respect for you and your opinion. It is obviously formed without considering facts. And that makes your opinion totally worthless.

Let me know when you get KISS, Rod Stewart, or Paul McCartney to play the Brady.
