Hey,
I graduated from college on the east coast this past may and I just got a job working in Tulsa. I am going to be relocating from my home in Washington D.C. to Tulsa, OK for most of 2010.

I need to know what would be the ideal place for somebody my age to live in.

I am going to be working at the new Tulsa Drillers park, ONEOK Field, so being close to that would be nice but not absolutly necessary

Like I said, I have lived outside of DC my whole life, very used to the city thing, I go out into the city all the time, but went to college in middle of nowhere PA, so I can handly whereever but would prefer something more uptown/midtown-ish if that makes any sense at all.

I would not be looking to spend more than roughly $800 per month on apt, but obviously prices range all over the place. So dont read too much into that.

Based on this, where would be some of the better, more popular places to live for somebody right out of school trying to make it in a city??

Hmmm, you might be able to rent a place in one of the apartment towers downtown for that price, even some of the condo towers occasionally have places that people will rent for a time. There are some small apartment buildings near Cherry Street (15th street) you might look into, or those along Riverside Drive (between downtown and say 41st). Riverside is a pleasing area and would allow you to quickly get to work and enable you to enjoy bikeriding, jogging, rollerblading, people watching, etc. and you would be close to Brookside and its shops, dining, and club scene.

No Comment Tmach18 , just kidding "the persons" to answer your
question would be Tulsa Artist and Especially...Goodpasture , I haven't
set foot in Tulsa since 2003 when my father died. You couldn't get a
apartment or condo at the (Mayo) no way no how , but I wish that they
would build some Apartments and Condo's in the GREENWOOD DISTRICT
and around the UNIVERSITY EXTENTION CENTER for OU and OSU and
Langston University STUDENTS you would fit right in THERE.

Or this near the river and downtown, plus its next to the big round apartment (University Towers) building but cant find it listed lol... Mansion House Apartments Tulsa, OK - Apartments for Rent in Tulsa Oklahoma

For Liberty Towers.... High Rise Living | Tulsa Condo Rentals | Oodle (http://apartments.oodle.com/detail/high-rise-living/1709412600-tulsa-ok/ - broken link)
LIBERTY TOWER CONDO (http://tulsa.craigslist.org/apa/1536539529.html - broken link)

Here is a more typical apartment complex that is right on Riverside Drive and River Parks, and right near trendy Brookside, Wild Oats, etc. Had a friend who lived there and loved it (he was a jogger and having the trails right outside his door was a dream for him) Legacy at Riverview Apartments - Tulsa*Ok Apartments or was it these, I dont remember lol ... http://www.apartments.com/partner/su...d=More_Details

Cherry Street... Hardwoods in Tulsa - Cherry Street Tulsa

Then there is Westport on the River... Westport On The River Tulsa Apartments | Apartments in Tulsa OK I know the west side is not the prettiest part of town, but I have known a lot of people who live in Westport, its right on the river and you never go into areas of west Tulsa, you drive out of the apartment complex, head across a bridge, and voila your downtown or on River Parks.
