Thank you. I'm still learning my camera but getting better everyday. It's finding time to take pictures that is tough. I've gotten into the habit of taking the camera to work with me.

I guess I should be happy to be employed right now; my company just laid off 55 last Friday and I didn't know if I was going to be one of them. I wasn't. I sure feel for those who got let go though, at any job.

Okie, I love the outside pics of the Bok Center. It turned out to be a beautiful building.

Sorry to hear about your co-workers and glad to hear that you managed to stay employed. Hopefully things will start looking up within a year or so.

A few more:

This one I took with a fifteen second exposure about 45 minutes after sunset. I was surprised how well the result was:

This one I took at the parking lot of the new Tulsa Hills shopping center at W 71st Street and US Highway 75 (the Okmulgee Beeline for you oldtimers).

Those are GREAT pics BigOkie, especially the one you did of the neighborhood using extra exposure. It's worthy of being wallpaper.

Why are the upper levels of the BOK curtained off like that?

Thanks.

And they curtain the upper deck off because hockey rarely sells enough to put anyone in the upper deck save for the opening night or special nights (we'll have one on Jan 23 to retire a jersey that might sell it out), so it doesn't make it look so empty.

The OKC arena (Ford Center) does the same thing for the OKC Blazers hockey team. They very rarely have enough tickets sold to put anyone in the upper sections.

More photos; this is from last night's game with OKC where Doug Lawrence had his jersey number retired to the rafters.

2009-01-23 Tulsa Oilers vs OKC Blazers - a set on Flickr

Some samples:
The Arena (BOK Center)

The Colors on the Ice

The honored (Doug Lawrence)

No Oiler will ever wear number 9 again now.

You guys just let me know if this gets monotonous; I haven't gotten out a whole lot outside of my hockey games to get any really interesting photos since the ice storm.
