Just finished watching Season 4 of Doc Martin. I love this series! It's a little bit like 'House' meets 'Northern Exposure.' And a small village in Cornwall makes a wonderful idyllic setting. Does anyone know if there was ever a Season 5?

It's a great show, Martin is so arrogant but a great actor. I think there is a season five in the works...but I might be wrong. I hope there is another season...

I have just looked on the ITV website and it says that Doc Martin will return to british tv in 2011 for the 5th season. So it'll probably be the end of 2011 or early 2012 before it comes out on DVD.

Default Doc Martin - who watches it?

I needed to take a break from my Dallas and Dynasty marathon and started watching Doc Martin over the weekend.

Who here watches it?

I am so far up to episode four or five and I am really enjoying it. It's kind of a British Northern Exposure, but I think better written.

And I love the scenery - a little Waking Ned Devine-ish.

I do find Elaine a little annoying and I hope they tone her down a bit (whoops - I just looked up Doc Martin on IMDB and I see Elaine is on only six episodes ).

We are in season 2 where I live and am thoroughly enjoying it. Those areas of the Southwest in England are gloriously stunning. Nice to see characters who are properly rounded with all their flaws and idiosyncracies.

I loved Doc Martin. I hope that next summer they start filming season 6. They said that last year they wanted to give the Cornish town a break from the disruption of filming so hopefully they will get back to work writing soon.

I've seen 5 seasons of Doc Martin. I hope they do a sixth season, haven't heard yet.

They just started showing it here. I love it, especially since I've been a fan of things Cornwall since before Poldark. I love the way he's a fish out of water. And the portrait of the locals is fun too. I've since discovered it online and may switch to that since they dvr keeps missing the last few lines.

Just curious, is this filmed anywhere near the coves where Poldark was filmed? There are shots which just look very familiar.

Yes.....he's definitely a "fish out of water." LOL

Since I'm only four episodes in, I don't want to ask too many questions, but I do like the bond that he and Roger have - both outcasts and somewhat socially inept - and hope that isn't brought to a sad end.

As with everything I watch, I watch it on-line.
