I don't know for sure whether Raw Nerve is still going, I get the impression it is or will be? But Monday is the premier of another Shatner show - Aftermath.
The premier will be an hour but I think the other ones will be 1/2 an hour.
The interview was conducted for “Aftermath,” Mr. Shatner’s new series on the Biography Channel. The series, which Mr. Shatner said he conceived and sold to the channel, is about the human leftovers of the 24/7 news cycle.
“We leap from one event to the next, expecting that instant gratification,” he said. “I’m revisiting the events two, three, five, seven years later and seeing what happened to the people involved. What was the effect of that event on their life?”
Seven episodes of “Aftermath” are planned. Other interviewees include Bernard Goetz, Jessica Lynch and Mary Kay Letourneau.
I gotta say I like the premise of going back to see what happened after the initial coverage of a story. In today's journalism its all GAAAAGHHH OMG for a day or two then - blip, nada. You have no idea what happened later. Did someone go to jail? Why did something happen?
So supporting the idea, even if the choices for stories aren't my favs I'm in
Saw last night's show--an interview with Bernhard Goetz, the subway shooter back in the '80s. I thought it was a great show.
It covered the shooting in '84, the ensuing criminal trial and the civil trial in the early '90s. It used film footage from those events, interviews with some of those involved as well as the interview with Goetz...I'm thinking the interview was the bulk of the show.
It was very interesting...Shatner does a good job.
I've lost all respect for Shatner since his negligence and following arrogance for the death of his wife.
