UFO. It was a British TV series from about 1970 or so. I think you can find the theme song on Youtube.

Friends, Cheers, Growing Pains, and the Fresh Prince of Bel Air are my picks. Love 'em and still know them by heart.

Everything listed on here is great, so I won't get repititious. Here are some good ones that haven't been mentioned yet:

Idyllic easy-listenin' music that suited the show perfectly: The Fishin' Hole (Andy Griffith).

Two from shows set in the Bay area, that both let you know you were about to get a look at an hour of urban grit: Ironside and The Streets of San Francisco.

Just to add to the list of real oldies: Combat!

OK I guess I am strange but I just downloaded to the ipod (right click save target, open with itunes, convert to AAC) themes from That Girl (67 version), Make Room for Daddy and Here Come the Brides at Sitcoms Online - Sitcom news, message boards, photos, links, theme songs, and more!

I previously got the jazzy last version of Leave it to Beaver (62) and the big band influenced Bewitched ending and Hazel ending -gotta love Hawaii Five-O, fun to sing along with Green Acres, etc. I also love the Dallas theme song, Man from Uncle -- many of the 50s and 60s shows because the musicians were at their peak in those days -- lots of great brass!
