Interesting comparison. Haley sounds pretty unrefined in that one.

And those ridiculous faces he makes at the camera. Ick. My bet is she didn't choose it. Been there/Done that with Carrie Underwood vs Bo Bice.

I thought Haley's performance of I Who Have Nothing was outstanding. It was especially exceptional when compared to all the other performances last night. But. . . I still don't think it was as good as Jordin Sparks' version during her season. In particular, I hated the arrangement, which absolutely sucked. Jordin's version was downright haunting, which is what that song is supposed to project. And her vocals were just a little more "pure", as opposed to raspy. As in The Voice, here's a side-by-side "duel" of both performances.

I have to agree Jordin's performance was so much better.

I didn't notice that incident last night. But, I read in one of reviews from last week's show that Scotty stepped on her dress when exiting the stage, and if looks could kill, Scotty would have been dead. The guys better stay away from Lauren's dresses. LOL.

She gave him a scowl that was a part I had not seen in her before. Lauren fineally (sp) hit some high notes that she has been so afraid of in the past.

My picks are James then Scotty.

Lauren is too immature to handle this profession now, maybe later. Haley needs to go home first and adjust her attitude and she still should have some kind of career.
I think if the judges would be a little clearer what they want from her, she might not need an attitude adjustment. They were supposed to pick a song last night that meant something to them, she did and you could tell it meant something to her. For Randy to say that she needed to bring it like Michael did was just plain wrong, no one can bring it like Michael did and noone should try. The judges seem stuck on wanting these kids to sound as good as the singers whose songs they are singing, even in some instances sounding just like them.

I started out enjoying the judges this year but now I have had enough.

JLo has her world tour coming up so this will likely be her last year.

At this stage of the game, Haley appears (still), to be in need of constructive criticism and overall direction. Fact is, she's been told the same old "We don't think you know who you want to be as an artist" bit so many times I can't remember.

If you're in the Final 4, and you need the judges help for anything, you're going home.

On and off, I was a Haley supporter. When she hits the right song, without rasping it to death or screaming, she's absolutely great. What she's proven so far, is that she has no clue at all when she has a so-so or even a bad performance, and she gets all huffy when someone says so.

Haley can be much better and consistent overall if she had a clue. Sadly, she can't seem to buy one.

______

As for the judges? So much slop. Randy, who slobbered from one season to another with his Yo's and Dawgs, was apparently nominated to try and fill the critique shoes of Simon. His criticisms sometimes seem forced. But most times, he reverts to everyone's great. I seriously doubt Tyler thought her first song was great. J Lo is almost useless. Her bias in the earlier rounds was painful to watch, and probably hurt the outcome.

If they had real judges on AI like Simon, Haley would probably attack them LOL

Truthfully I like Haley's interpretation better than Jordin's. Less balledy, broadway and boring. Don't get me wrong Jordin has pipes and I think she has done well for herself, but Haley has her own unique sound and the "it" factor of a hot new kid on the block. She needs to learn to control her voice better and she will soar!
