Another point, this studio version is an example of how some artists can sound great and fresh at first, then the boring music industry gets to them. If Haley can do performances on an album like her Adelle song, and many others, she'll succeed. She should take all the time she needs.

I like the studio version as well, love how she hits the high notes in the same range as Elton...just awesome and like Jill said very hard to do. Not to mention her ssssing and oooh's just fabulous!
Point well taken in the bolded! Thank god we may have something here other than another Britney Spears I think that's why Jimmy chose an Adelle song for her.

I know it's wishful thinking that Haley might win. The scenario you suggest is my voting strategy. There's no way I would ever vote for Scotty. Every week I notice more behavior from him that makes me cringe. Not his looks, either.
Lauren has been the "chosen" one of AI producers from the beginning. Lauren will be very easy for the record companies to "handle." Haley and Scotty may be the pawns in this game.

Yes James was never in the bottom...ding...ding...ding...something not right with that, but I don't know what it is, I can only guess. Most of us veteran Idol watchers have taken note of the many times the players have been played with. Obviously the judges have also given her 2 standing O's.
I don't agree with your assessement of her reaction to her critiques. The opposing opinion has already been addressed here, but reading other boards as well can help put it in perspective. I simply never had a negative reaction to the "hoopla" and significance attached to her facial expressions etc. from the get go. Have you noticed her beautiful smile? That's more what I have noticed and the way she can command the stage. That's the show I'm watching and thanks for asking
|
Oh sorry, "fantastic songs"...same thing since this a singing competition. And how could I miss her painted on, robotic smile? Thats all she does, except roll her eyes when told she was terrible and fight back and be nasty. Command the stage? She looks stiff most of the time. She and Lauren were great last night and in my opinion it showed everyone how much better Lauren is than Haley. Lauren OWNED that stage.
And how many times have the judges given James a standing ovation? Alot more than 2.

You are right he was never in the bottom three but I'm talking more of the sympathy/compeling backround vote when I say "underdog". I think when Haley was perceived as being picked-on she got some of James votes!

Well two stating O's, from the very judges that bashed her, in the last two weeks to no one else getting them. I'd say they were fantastic moments.

That's one opinion. Here's another;
He is a rocker and sings just as good if not better than any lead-man out there. He commands the stage and pushed himself further than any other performer out there.
Granted, the remaining performers aren't too shabby in their own way. I give credit for that Steven for stepping outside of the box and singing something besides, "Let's lock them doors and turn the lights down low...". He has an amazing voice... in general. He has a great speaking voice as well. I wish him well. I think it would do AI well to turn out a great country artist.
I do not blame the judges or the show in general... except that they wasted a good "save" when they needed it.
Now for my opinion... It should be James and Kacey up there in the final. If there are any sympathy votes this season, it's that the guys were way stronger than the gals and they shouldn't keep those two girls in there just to keep it even. The judges may have had a bias in something like that. There are times when the gals are stronger than the guys and I'd say they do it the other way... persuade somehow to have a finale where you have one guy vs one gal. Someone more deserving will get left out. It doesn't always go that way, obviously.
James wasn't too graceful in his loss. That's too bad that it went down that way... but I think he takes a lot of AI fans with him. We'll see how it goes a year from now. He really wanted to win A.I. though. Too bad.

Now there's another opinion, and here's mine;
James was everything that Adam Lambert could only wish to be... but with real singing talent.
For all those you say would be turned away from Adams' vote due to his sexuality, just as many if not more could have voted for him on that basis.
I think sexuality, race, creed, etc. should have nothing to do with it. Look at reality; do these things slow one down in the actual music industry? Art is art. What the individual believes in and how they live has got nothing to do with it. How they use what they got has everything to do with it... imo.

I know. Funny how some of us are speaking and interpreting different languages! She has always gotten plenty of positive feedback. The female lead in Lady Antebellum (who has a fantastic voice) got passed over by Idol producers. She sure showed them

I agree with both comments. You can't compare apples to oranges. IMHO - her studio version of "Rolling in the Deep" just excellent.

Yes I'm really happy for her and excited at the prospect that we may have something really good to listen to, if she gets with the right management.
