Am in agreement with you. Not discounting that Lauren has a nice singing voice; however, "to me" it is not star quality. That being said, her 'wailing wall' performance during her last song was ridiculous....but, perhaps she is hoping the voters will put her on top since she and her mom cried and hugged.

Scotty's mom cried with joy when he sang, but he didn't grandstand it.

"My mommas cryin."

We know Lauren, because during your performance the camera was on your momma instead of you!

Anyway... that aside. I did enjoy Laurens last song. I thought she really stepped it up vocally. She seems like a sweet girl. But there is still something in me that says all her tears and sweetness is a show....IDK...

And Scotty... what a nice young man. He's a good kid, a gentleman, and an awesome singer. I don't even like country music but I enjoyed Scotty last night. I love when he sings higher in his register!

Both are great kids with a lot to learn. But, I think Scotty will win tonight!

I thought Lauren did very well last night, but I think she was given better songs. That last song of hers was a gift, a manipulative gift. Scotty's last song wasn't heart tugging. Not fair.

Ok, first let me say.....it's much better watching the show in real time instead of after 11 PM at night! haha Then again, at least we didn't lose power or lose the entire show to weather updates (glee was lost almost completely and part of the Voice)

Oh, and you might have seen 'us' on the news today. At the Rangers game....made it through 4 innings of very high winds before the lightning started. They moved everyone from the upper decks to the second or first levels. Then it started to rain and we walked the covered concourse area. That means that we did not know there was huge hail falling on the field a little later. yikes. They evacuated everyone in the stands through the dugouts and outfield gates. This all happened just before we decided to go ahead and call it a night. Then we were sent underground though several levels of stairs and hallways. Oh joy. Got out and headed home without incident. Many areas in the general area had some pretty bad damage along with some possible/probably tornadoes. It could have been really scary, but I've lived here all my life and know when to really worry and when to be cautious. It was between those two and we just waited it out.

Back to the show.

I quite enjoyed Scotty's first song and also felt like it was seeing him in concert mode. The second wasn't as good as the first, but still solid. His last song was great and could be a good single for him. Yet.....it wasn't magical...which is where Lauren's last song landed. Squarely.

Lauren's first song was good, but not as good as his. Her second song was so much better and she seemed much more confident too. Her last song was a gift handed to her on a silver platter. Having said that.....her ability to sing that standing in front of her mother without losing it was freaking amazing. She is only 16 years old and has so darn often seemed to be so close to breaking down over other emotions moments, that seeing her steadfastly serenade her mom was surprising, lovely and so very well done. Great job.

I hated how the show was so dang rushed. I know we gripe about how the add so much unnecessary filler or useless guests, but sheesh couldn't they find a happy medium? lol

And, yes, Lauren's clothing was once again.....dreadful.

It was at best, pretty darn obvious. But IMO, it was pretty darn obvious that Lauren won last night as well.

Not that performance really matter in Idol, but she should win.

Well them parading that doctor out there before she even sang was a little much. And how they gushed over her...well I don't think she was that much better than Scotty. And singing to her momma, Ryan escorting her down the stairs, etc. It was ridiculous.

Shes not gonna win tho anyway.
