It's so mean but I sorta like Jaxson's FB campaign idea

I like Grandpa's idea, too! The one voted off first isn't always the worst - even this year it seems to me The Hoff would have improved more than The Situation did. We might be surprised! I also wouldn't mind seeing a season with a bunch of 2nd and 3rd placed dancers.

Default Portia turned em down

Portia de Rossi turns down 'Dancing With the Stars' | Inside TV | EW.com

Portia de Rossi was asked to be on the next season of Dancing With the Stars, but she declined, her publicist tells EW. PopEater had reported that the hit show’s producers were keen on Ellen DeGeneres’ wife as one half of the show’s first same-sex dance couple. When she elected not to take part, the idea was reportedly shelved for the time being.

So they really were going to have a same sex couple? How gross. There's nothing wrong with two females dancing together, fast dancing, but close ballroom? Yuck. My God, I'm a little slow on the uptake....I just realized that tv is the biggest enabler of perverse behavior. DUH.

If she had said yes, it would have been ridiculous to have Portia dance with another woman. Because she's gay, she shouldn't dance with a guy? How silly.

If that's the direction the DWTS show is going, they've lost at least 5 viewers that I know.

I don't doubt what you say, and there's probably millions more who feel the same way, however, on the flip side, how many gay people would start watching because of a gay couple? Would it be enough to keep show on the air? Would viewers be offended? Would the advertisers be offended?

Remember, it's a ratings and money thang....as was proven last season. Controversary increases curiosity, curiosity increases ratings and ratings increases revenue.

I dare say someone who is gay and gay viewers no doubt don't care to be exploited just so a network and it's sponsors can get rich.
This show is done. For me. Good idea in the beginning--the teach someone who can't dance to dance. But it went off track early on and has stayed that course.

Oh I bet they would if they got paid enough .

I don't think it's exploiting someone just because of their sexual preference and appearing on this show. No more than exploiting physically-challenged people by having Heather Mills on the show. If nothing more, it brought more awareness of physically-challenged people.

I do agree that DWTS has gotten off track in recent years by some of the so-called stars they've selected. It premise of the show has really changed and I truly doubt I'll be watching this season.

you apparently don't know many gays. I think Heather Mills was exploited as well but she would sell her soul to the devil.
