I don't think so. Let's say that Tribe 1 sends a person one week and Tribe 2 sends a person the next week. They "battle" -- the loser goes home and the winner goes back into the game.

Net loss = 1 person/2 episodes

Repeat until the merge, and the first part of the season will be twice as long.

They are sending home one person per episode. That didn't start till the third episode is all because they had to have two people voted out before it could begin.

My comment was in response to the discussion about why the RI winner wasn't returning to the game each episode. I've edited my earlier post for clarity.

Man mother nature was playing havoc on us right when Survivor started. CBS kept interupting for tornado alerts all over the mid state area. Darn, darn, darn.
