Susan Boyle has a great voice and is a dream come true for us and her.
Now we have this person who is the next Susan Boyle? Yes, it would be
so wonderfull but will it happen? Also is this a star to be that is so into the
Holywood fame and train. I wish him the best, but also wish him to slow down.
Susan did learn that and is now doing great!

IMO. This will be a passing '15 minute of fame' moment. Being an announcer for a athletic team is not going to maintain the fame like someone who can entertain universally all the time like Susan Boyle.

And, Ted Williams has a track record of failure - extensive and intensive public exposure and attention is only going to spiral him back into his demons quickly.

Unfair comparison.

he has not yet sought treatment for his problems--a precursor to failure

I am so tired of hearing about Ted Williams. I wish the guy luck, but he needs help before he goes back over the edge.

Apparently Mr. Williams got into some trouble this week:

Ted Williams, homeless man with golden voice, on his Los Angeles arrest: My daughter hit me

I hope fame doesn't plunge this man even further over the edge, as Veuvegirl mentioned.

Being virtually invisible and on the fringes of society one day, then the next, catapulted to international fame, isn't healthy.

I wish Mr. Williamsthe best, but I sincerely hope he gets himself clean and sober before he takes on these once in a lifetime offers and challenges. All the money in the world won't repair damage done to oneself and family over time if not addressed head on.

I wouldn't be surprised if his daughter has been pressing him for $$$.

Sounds like he's going to check into rehab, courtesy of Dr Phil (stay tuned tomorrow, just caught a preview).

I do hope he makes it but time will tell. I really don't think he is truly ready for the responsibility.

Is he going to be on Dr. Phil tomorrow, or are we just supposed to wait till tomorrow to hear more from you? Because if he's going to be on Dr. Phil, I don't want to miss it.
