My personal favorite is Good Eats with Alton Brown. It's not just a cooking show that's why I love it. It's funny and I'm a big nerd so I love the scientific and historical explanations, as well as the trivia. I love Alton too, he's witty and doesn't come off corny or fake like some TV chefs. Not only is it my favorite cooking show, but one of my favorites period!

What's yours?

Nigel Slater's "real food", Anthony Bourdain's "no reservations" ( more of a travel programme really) and Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's "river cottage" and "cook on the wild side". Also Ray Mears "wild foods" .

I love America's top chef - unfortunately, they never give you a recipe - but I'm amazed at the culinary genius and the textures that are put together that I never would have thought of...my husband likes one about weird cuisine, but I can't think of the name of it....disgusting stuff, though...Extreme Cuisine?

I'm with brokencrayola; I can't pick just one!!! There are so many great ones. I also like Barefoot Contessa, anything Paula Deen, and I used to love $40 a day with Rachael Ray.

I really enjoy Paula Deen - I wouldn't touch most of her recipes with a 10-foot pole - too caloric and unhealthy, but I just love the show. I use Ina Garten's and Rachel Ray's recipes the most and I do like Alton Brown a lot too.

Cooking with cleavage with uhhhh, uhhhhhhh, I don't even know her name ! Just joking ! I like them all except Sara's secrets and that sloe-moe contessa person, such a blah personality ! Alton Brown and Tony Bourdain are great.

We like the Extreme Cuisine show and we love to watch Paula eat and cook. She is not afraid of butter.

My 10 year old son and I usually watch a lot of Food Network shows. Definitely the Next Food Network Star lately, love the 30 minute meals with Rachael Ray, also Paula Dean, I agree with Rickers that Contessa lady is pretty boring, don't know how she ever got her own show...seems like the pretty snooty type to me. It's funny because my son loves to watch all these cooking shows, but is so picky when comes to food, he would never even try more than half of these recipes if I cooked them
