This is the first time we've seen it. Wouldn't it be wonderful to be able to do that?

I missed it. Gonna watch it on On Demand. I like the show and I like the idea. I think it is good that they show the person giving the money after becuase it is the people in need acting like they do everyday, not preening and primping for a camera thinking they will get something for it. Yes, I agree, if you have it you should give it without recognition beyond a thank you, but so many people do not give when they can and hopefully that makes others think twice about helping.

This new show (and the one that was on in the recent past) is weird... What is the excuse for having all the TV cameras around, etc???? These people HAVE to know something is "up" when this person shows up out of nowhere to work with them or help them or whatever. Just like "undercover boss" --- those people HAVE to know this is a set up with the owner or President of the company. This show is on network television and has been on for a while, so how can these people NOT know????

Yes, it was fiction. I watched it as a child.

I can see how they could get away with this during the first season, particularly if all of the segments were being filmed at roughly the same time, just airing throughout the season. I mean, it's supposed to be a documentary on volunteerism. I can see people buying into that. Once the first season's over, it would be more of a problem.

I thought it was good, but I was disappointed that she gave $40,000 to the music school and just $20,000 to those two cute little old women who had founded the Love Kitchen. I wished it were reversed.

I forgot about it! The Love Kitchen ladies are from Knoxville. In fact, one just went back into the hospital. I'm going to catch it On Demand.

See post #6. The sisters were also on Oprah, but I missed that, too. They are on our local news a lot. I know someone who sends their child to the music school.

It's opposite The Amazing Race here. Guess I'll have to check it out on the puter sometime later.
