saw today (vs last night on his show) that MSNBC and Keith Olbermann are parting ways...
Comcast the giant cable constrictor received clearance from the FCC to buy NBC recently and the first strike out of the box is that it uses its power of the purse to silence a guy who has some pretty nasty things to say about Comcast--
I knew this would be a bad deal--GE was pretty heavy handed when it bought NBC but think this deal will really screw up balance between "liberal" and "conservative" POVs since MSNBC is viewed as being to the "left" with Fox to the "right"...
Silenceing Olbermann is the first step in shaping the news/commentary to reflect the Comcast POV--
most people are not going to care (around here anyway)
but Comcast has more on its agenda than just getting rid of Olbermann--

subscribers are going to feel the pinch in their bandwidth pretty soon as Comcast will start to throw its weight about with cable providers and companies like Netflix which need copious amounts of bandwidth to send movies home to subscribers...

The FCC is just pretty worthless in actually accomplishing what its charter is supposed to provide Americans--and seems best able to sue for "morality" violations which are pretty lightweight when compared to wholesale repression of free speech...
if you think this is not really that important
check out this web link--
media conglomerants are slowly but surely putting filters on the "news" to suit their purposes--which is not to present balanced/accurate information to the public...

I have a feeling this was personality driven in that Keith is a real life jerk.

You could probably add any person who has a TV show--news commentator or prime-time scripted program...most people who "star" in TV or radio usually have dominant personality or they would not get to where they are--
dominant personalities are usually regarded as "problems" by people who try to control them--like their bosses...

this deal should never have happened...and frankly most of the media congloms SHOULD be forced to break up as violating anti-trust rules but apparently they have great lawyers and even better lobbyists who keep that from happening...
