I feel so empty; there's no new Mad Men episodes now. I keep the TV off on Sundays at 10 (unless there's a good classic movie on).

Anyway, wanna bet that next season Joan will be a widow - and a mom?
Don and Megan will be married. Betty would have attempted suicide (and would have unfortunately survived). Roger will leave Jane. Peggy will be promoted to something or other ... Peggy may even get engaged.

I think that what you are saying make alot of sense. Somehow I don't expect Joan's hubby to make it back from Nam. I can see Betty attempting suicide, and Peggy will have an interesting year.

Like you, I am totally bored with tv. I used to love curling up on Sunday, and watching MM. I'm in now what? mode. It's such great creative writing and it's so real....

Great points~! Mad Men is one of the most fascinating shows on TV to date.

Even though Betty is crazy, I do have 'some' sympathy for her lol! I don't want her to attempt suicide

I don't think Joan's hubby is gonna make it back either.

Now, Peggy is a breath of fresh air compared to the other cast mates

It has been an interesting year for MadMen.

In Treatment is one for which I still haven't acquired an addiction. I should give it another chance.

Megan will be pregnant by the season opener. I still hope that Don moves her into their Tarrytown house! It would cement the kids to Megan even more. I don't think that Betty has the gumption to try to kill herself. She's hanging on to the notion that she'll show that horrible horrible Don a thing or three ... killing herself won't give her the satisfaction. I do think that Henry may want to divorce. They don't have kids of their own .. who knows, maybe Betty will be pregnant.

I think that Peggy will be Don's right hand woman. In the age of women's liberation, Don will need her in more client meetings geared toward products for women, especially women's cigarettes and women's products.

Jane will be the only thing left in Roger's pathetic life. Considering his heart condition, I'd wouldn't be surprised if the new season opens up with a memorial service for Roger ... can you imagine the fireworks if that lucky strike guy comes? Oh ... and ... with the exit of lucky strike ... how 'bout we bring back SAL!!!!!!

Joan will be a single mother and with Roger and Dr. Rape dead ... Joan can truly move on.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Dr. Greg might just make it home from Vietnam. It seems so obvious that dying there will be his fate...and that's why I think Matt Weiner might pull a fast one on us and let Dr. Rape come home. Think about it...Dr. Greg has proven to be less than a progressive thinker when it comes to accepting Joan as a self-determined woman. I can see him coming home and demanding that she become a stay-at-home mother. I think Joan would be unhappy in that role...while she wants to be a mother, clearly, she also seems to live for her work. Bottom line, I think it would make for more tension if Dr. Greg lives through Vietnam...comes home a shellshocked or at least tempermental husband/father...and perpetuates agony on poor Joanie.

All that said, I hope he still dies.

I am not sure about Peggy's near term future. I just don't see her getting married anytime soon. I tihnk to a large degree that is what her breakup was about this season. Her boyfriend and family expect one thing...marriage. She wants it on a limited level too...but is more devoted to her work. Work will always come first. And since the social norms are changing, there's a growing movement for young women to reject marriage right away. I just don't think she gets married anytime soon.

I wouldn't be shocked if Betty tried suicide, but I think a much more likely option is for her to (to quote the Rolling Stones) go runnin' to the shelter of mother's little helper. If she ever gets a good adult therapist, I imagine she'd be prescribed something to help her get in a better frame of mind.

I think death would be an easy fate for Dr. Greg. I think it would be more interesting for the show if he came home, but came home broken. Maybe PTSD, or maybe wounded. He's a surgeon, and if he can't be a doctor, then what?

He could come home with a prodigious marijuana habit. Everyone I know who went to Vietnam did. ("I love the smell of reefer in the morning." ) Maybe Joanie will be stuck with a screaming baby and a stoner husband who doesn't WANT a job. Roger will start to look pretty good again.

I really miss Rubicon, too. Can't watch the others as I don't have premium cable. I'm loving Luther on BBC America, though. And I just finished the great Wallender series on PBS with Kenneth Branagh. Unbelievably good acting and writing on both programs! But too few episodes in a "season."

It's on my list to check out Luther because Idris Elba ("Stringer" in The Wire) and guess shots on The Big C is the lead.
