Perhaps that's why they took over the dance floor with their well choreographed dance moves. They were trying to show their strengths to make up for their lack of a family.
Yeah, that still bugs me. Peggy dropped a bombshell and we viewers didn't get to see Pete dealing with the news. Maybe that will come later this season.
I thought the same about the dancing. I'm sure we haven't heard the last of the baby, nor the catholic priest.
I loved peggy in this episode! Between her lines "I'm so high" and "I'm in a good place" ... peggy is now replacing joan as my favorite. Joan has lost a lot of her bite since she got married.
The whole Roger/Jane/Don/Betty thing was just plain weird!!!!
Watching Pete and Trudy take over the dance floor was uncomfortable for me to watch. It was desperate, or that's what I thought. Why did that one guy's wife leave in a huff?
How long before Sally is in a shrink's office???? She's terrorized by Betty and Grandpa. Don adores her though.
I think Roger does love Jane. It's just that he has bucked the tradition--especially of that era--and married a woman that he loves, in spite of everyone else or what they might think about him for it.
I really liked the scene betwee Roger and Don where he refers to being "conpicuously happy." Roger for once actually came across as the much classier of the two. He has been more than patient with Don, whose been treating him very disrespectfully since the beginning of the season. Then Don ends up just letting loose and making out with Betty. It seemed like Roger's comment encouraged him to just go for it and just be happy rather than try to be what he is "supposed" to be or what anyone else wants him to be.
You can definitely see the latter era of the sixties emerging on the timeline.

I think it's because she and her husband were upstaged by the talented dance floor hogs.

But Betty will never buy into that thinking at all. She's all about keeping up appearances ... but it was very interesting to see how she completely melted when that guy was flirting with her.
yes, the 60's are going to come crashing in and the tv guy is going to become much more imporatant than Pete, THAT will be fun to watch!!! I don't think we've seen the Beatles hit Ed Sullivan yet .... that will be harry's coup because it marked a change in the power of television.

I felt something different. They were having so much fun, I don't think they were that aware of the others leaving the floor, or taking over on purpose. Everybody has a gift, and theirs finally had a chance to shine. Their joy was infectious.

Are you talking about Harry? He was being such a shrinking violet at the party. Wife had to practically drag him to the Draper's table. Then get him reluctantly to dance. And then he meekly stops before the song was over.

You're probably right. I can see Trudy in the car home nagging Pete that he needs to be more like he was on the dancefloor, in the office. Or using it as a powerplay to prove to pete that he needs HER to succeed. And then in a huff, he'll blurt out that Peggy bore him a child ....
It's sad, I want to yell at Harry, "YOU'RE TIME IS COMING!!!!!"

Oooooh, good observation. That WILL be interesting to watch.
