1. Why, really, did Tom come back from America? The only explanation he gave was to say "This (DA) is my home." Pretty weak tea. Did I miss something?
2. Why did Fellowes and the writing gang feel the need to turn Carson into an ogre? He was always a curmudgeon, of course, but since his marriage he became increasingly unpleasant. Surely it wasn't Mrs. Hughes fault.....or was it?
(My English friends tell me all will be well when I've seen the finale, but still...)
Maybe a job fell through for Tom, Mr. leech. Maybe he was tired of having to take care of a child when a nanny can do it.
Maybe Mrs. Hughes will turn out to be pregnant and turn Carson into a puppy.
I'm watching PBS now. Julian Ovenden ("Charles Blake") was singing. Good voice.
Me too. Although I watched the entire series already (through a link that was provided somewhere on here) I think I'll watch the finale again tonight. It's the UK Christmas special. A lot happens in this final episode, A LOT!
I was glad that Bertie's mother evidently has had a change of heart about Edith. Edith finally showed she had a brain by being honest - what a concept - to her prospective mother in law.
I still think Thomas is going to replace Carson; they keep cutting back to Thomas to show how miserable he is, and Carson's not getting better, so....
For heaven's sake, why doesn't Carson see a doctor just to confirm the diagnosis?
I don't know how Mary can cope without Carson around to validate almost everything she does....
