I am considering getting the hardware to stream netflix movies directly to my TV but am still a little concerned about streaming video that way. It works ok on my computer but I am wondering if anyone has done this for TV. Are there any jumps or skips? Does blu-ray come through as advertized? Was it worth the investment?

I've streamed through the XBox or Wii to TV, and it works really well, most of the time. The worst problem is if the wifi signal changes in strength, whatever we're watching pauses to change to stream to the new signal. That lasts only seconds, and doesn't happen that frequently. I am guessing Roku or a similar device works the same way.

I have watched using my account on my daughters TV using Playstation 3 and it was very good, no problems at all. They got it signed on into the TV though, I would not have been able to figure it out.

I have a PS3 and a Sony Blu-Ray player that I use. Your key piece of equipment for streaming will be your router. If you have a good router it will work great if not you'll lose the signal all the time or your download speed will be slow. The quality of the picture is very good however.

What device will you install for the stream? Will you be wireless or hardwire?

From my experience and what I've read from others, you can expect pretty good display while streaming Netflix or other content provider. As with any less than perfect technology, you can experience instances of flaw. Your mileage may vary.

Blu-Ray is totally different then streaming HD content from Netflix. Go to Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test and run it. If your DL/UP is slow then you won't get the full benefit of it quality wise.

Quality is fine. I have a b luray player with netflix app built in. I live in an apartment so I can connect a network cable instead of using wireless. Quality has been fine. Had a few issues after extensive streaming (7+hours) where it seemed to stop and rebuffer. Other than that haven't had any problems.
