I was an avid watcher of the Food Network, I find myself watching it less and less.
Some nights they will do like 3 hour blocks of Triple D and Chopped.
Challenge and Cupcake wars I could never get into.
What happined to the New Iron chef, Forgione?
They are all repeats.. If this was brought up somewhere else forgive me..
I'm just getting discusted with the same old crap over and over..
IMO all any cable channel ever does is show re-runs of all their shows. I mean they must re-air these episodes 25 times in a year. It's amazing what we are paying for.
There are a few shows on there I still enjoy, but as in everything (like HGTV), the novelty wears off eventually and they have to find a way to revamp the line up. Not sure what all you could come up with on a cooking network, but I'm sure they could come up with some fresh ideas.
I used to like to watch " Little People Big World" but then they did that little couple show and it was BORING. The same goes for " Jon and kate Plus 8. I never watched it but my mother did and I'd hear what went on( LOL). They were locals so at least that was interesting. Then they did the Duggars which I again never watched but had to hear about it( REALLY BORING). Cupcake wars and cake decorating. WTF? Even animal planet started doing ghost shows. Now its pawn shops flea market finds and storage lockers. They all just kick one tired idea around if it shows any hint of getting viewers.

Yes, they try to make things work exactly like another show. We watched the new ice carving show - I was SO interested in seeing how they did the ice carvings! - but they focused on the staff members, and their little quirks, like they ended up doing with Ace of Cakes. They did that on Ace of Cakes because people watched and got to know them, but it did NOT translate to the ice carving show. I wanted to see ice sculptures, not new "personalities".
I have to admit, I love Chopped, but not 8 X per episode! Something needs revamping on the network, but I don't know what would perk it up.
Maybe I just need to say goodbye to my TV for a while!
The Food network is dull. If you want to watch a great food based show tune into No Reservations on the Travel Channel or any of the Top Chef shows on Bravo.
