IMO Miranda is more true country. Underwood could go either way, pop or country. I like Miranda better.

I love this show. It's what AI should have been but never was. There is still more to the show and who knows, it might start going down the wrong path, but for right now I haven't been this excited about a broadcast in a very long time.

I watched it first, then told my husband about it. He didn't seem nearly as impressed but he loves AI. Me, I checked out on that show a long time ago, along with Dancing With The Stars.

And yes, not having the people that sing horrendously just to get air time is a major, major plus. But I like the premise of working with people to get them a recording contract.

And the woman that sang Janis sang it better than her, something I thought I'd never see. Who sings Janis better than Janis?

I'm an old lady and not a country music fan. But Blake Shelton has me checking it out and, if I were 30 years younger, I'd sure be checking him out too. Utterly charming.

Agreed.

Husband and I were original AI fans, through about season 4 or 5, but just couldn't really take it after that - it just got so absurd with the back stories, the silly (fake) performances just for ratings, the non-comments by the "judges," and the "singers" who obviously were selected based on packaging rather than talent.

The Voice seems to have all the things we wanted AI to have, and my favorite part - the judges really really seem to (genuinely) care and get excited about the prospective artists. It reminds me of the So You Think You Can Dance judges and their level of excitement.

I hope it keeps going...

some really awesome talent in the show down tonight. I disagreed with Frenchie and Patrick moving on but the others I thought were right on!

Blake picked the wrong guy imo. That hipster looking dude was a better singer imo. And Frenchie wasnt better than the other girl.

I was hoping the judges would say why they picked each one. I wouldn't have picked Frenchie against the other chick. I thought she had some pitch issues but that could be cleaned up. Frenchie's not likely to get more powerful. I wonder if the other girl's personality turned Christina off? I agreed with Blake that BOTH of Ceelo's girls were worth keeping.
