LOS ANGELES, May 16 (UPI) -- The Fox television network announced it has canceled its crime-themed reality show "America's Most Wanted" after 24 seasons.

The series sought help from the public in catching people on the run from law-enforcement agencies. It celebrated the capture of its 1,000th criminal in 2008.

More proof that "money, greed and power" run the world. So what if it "isn't profitable", what is this clown's definition of profitable? Not making X millions of dollars in profit so he and his peers can live high end? This show has helped capture some of the worst criminals in the world, all over the world. This generation of young people don't know, or don't care, because they are only concerned with "me". This show is probably not in their attention span of reality shows, even though it is the "original" reality show. I hope John Walsh finds another network to continue the show.

Wow, end of an era. I kind of hope they do a syndicated version as it seemed to provide some benefit.

This is a surprise...but then I am not surprised it is dropped over money.

I hope he finds a way to continue too. Not only teaching all of us to be alert and catch the bad guy, but actually hundreds and hundreds captured!

What an extraordinary triumph for him, using his child's murder and his personal pain to make such a AMAZING difference!

Outstanding, John Walsh!

Very sad to hear it. You'd think the show would get a little government funding since it's captured so many criminals.

No kidding. It serves a purpose. Sad indeed.

Well, let's hope it gets picked up by another station. One of my Sat eve favorite shows.

Was one of Sat eve faves as well followed by 48 hrs Mystery. The show made a difference and John Walsh was great, and admirable for making his cause helpful for so many. It will be missed!

Maybe CBS should pick it up and continue the 9PM time slot as a lead ini to 48 Hours.

Unbelievable. I actually saw two faces through the years of people I recognized!!! Whodathunk??? IMO that show is THE most important show on tv! I realize it takes money to produce tv shows but this show was a public service! Who knows how many lives it may have saved with 1,000 criminals being captured! One of our news stations has their own "Most Wanted" segment and 3 criminals were caught in as many days after it's broadcast!! You can't tell me that's not a good thing.

I can not believe Adam Walsh has been dead 30 years! It seems like just yesterday. So sad his killer was never found.

Thank you, John Walsh, for taking your most unbelievable tragedy and pain and helping others. I hope you find another outlet to continue your "good fight".
