Keep in mind that ABC spends somewhere between $3 and $4 dollars per month per TV Household to bring you the entire prime time lineup.
I have never seen Revenge, as I am a straight male.
I understand that they did some creative advertising where Target and Niemann Marcus bought all the advertising time for an episode. ABC assigned certain show staffers to work on the ads. The clips' set designers, the actors, the writers -- all work for the show. The storyline in the commercials blends in with the show. Since they went through all that effort the advertisers are motivated to buy all the advertising time for not just ABC, but for Hulu,ABC online, and all future syndication showings of the episode.
This kind of linking of a show to a company means that a show can probably be produced even with less than stellar ratings.
In any case, Revenge has 66 episodes produced after three years. The show has very little value for syndication unless there are at least 88 episodes. The production company is strongly motivated to keep the show going for at least that long.
Re: the bolded part of your response.
Are you being serious when you say that?
What does sexual preference have to do with watching this tv show?
If you have never watched the show, wth are you doing here in this thread. The rest of us could get along without your dull, boring posts about production, prices, etc.
BTW that episode with the commercials imbedded was very confusing to so many viewers. I'm not sure that went over very well.
Glad the show has been renewed, and loving the fact that David Clark is still alive. He will be there just in time to save Emily as she seems to be losing control of this whole situation.
Last night's episode was awesome and a great cliff hanger for next season in the fall. I hate that we lost Aiden, although I didn't care for him.
Also, I secretly wished Charlotte would just disappear, she is annoying as all outdoors, she never knows which side of the fence she wants to stand on, one minute she is on Jack's side, one minute she is on Victoria's side, one minute she sides with Emily..........and so on. ANNOYING!!!
And what is with Gideon, EEWWWW, his look is completely unlike Margot, not liking him at all. Hope he doesn't last long, and hope Nolan doesn't continue to work with him too long. That is asking for trouble.
Can't wait to see what becomes of Victoria!! She has it coming to her hard, most likely at the hands of David Clark himself. DRAMA, DRAMA, DRAMA. loving it.
