I do agree Holly is more "polished" and "professional" than the other mothers, but as we've seen several times, that has zero bearing on making the best decisions in the INTEREST of her daughter.
She's made 2 huge mistakes by abandoning her daughter on a trip, and now overreacting about the acting role for Nia.
We can agree to disagree on this....
I also don't blame the mothers for bringing their daughters back. However, if you play with the bull you are going to get the horns....something all these mothers can't accept.
I'll bet that far more often than not, Holly makes the right decisions when it comes to raising Nia. While I don't agree with her decision to pull Nia out of the "bully" dance, and I don't agree with her ranting over Nia being cast in "ethnic" roles, there is some merit to her viewpoints. Having an interest in the types of roles and dances Nia participates in does not make Holly a poor parent --- not in the least.
And, enough with this Holly "abandoning" her daughter accusations. Good Lord. Not every parent can make every freaking trip. There are plenty of adults who go on those trips for all the kids to be properly supervised, and, as the Abby Lee Miller Dance Studio seems to be comprised of dancers who support one another, I'm sure Nia was just fine.
All of the girls are adorable, but Nia is my favorite. From what footage is shown, at least, she has a consistantly positive attitude, seems to be very polite around Abby and the adults, and seems to just really enjoy learning to dance. I don't think dancing is the end all, be all for Holly and Nia, so, I think they have a great approach of making sure Nia gives an honest 100% effort but that she also enjoy her time in studio and on stage. I love watching Nia's reactions to learning what dances she's going to do. She seems excited and happy to be there. Her mother no doubt plays a role in having a positive and healthy attitude about things.

You're 100% right, not every parent can make a trip or practice, but if you followed my posts I never argued that. Another one putting words in my mouth.
The problem was that she had no parental supervision from her family for an 8yr old girl on a 600 mile bus trip. No aunts/uncles/fathers/nothing. Again, they all must have more important things to do or live on 3 continents + China. It wasn't important from anyone from Nia's family to be there on that road trip! That's why Holly ran like a little school girl to Abby's car window because she felt extremely guilty for doing it.... If you don't want to call it abandoned, call it deserted from your family....same thing.

I agree with your comments about Holly. Nia is one of my favorites just because she always looks happy and even when Abby criticizes her, she takes it and moves on. I just think Holly is too damn sensitive. I'm tired of hearing about her identity and stereotypes and perceptions. If she makes the connection that black girl = bully then that's an internal issue she needs to work out.
Nia is having fun. Bottom line. She saved the drama about not being the bully for the car ride home. And even then, I doubt she had a meltdown because Holly and her husband are raising their daughter to be a poised and mature young lady who knows there is more to the world than Abby Lee's dance company.

Team Holly
"Raising" their daughter? ZOMG..I had to laugh at that, sorry. It would be nice to see it if they could find the time to be around for a 600 mile trip to accompany their daughter...
Who needs an adult around? Right? And to "literally" worry that a bullying role is going to be bad for their child...... amazing...
This whole team this person or that person is so annoying. All these moms choose to be on tv so they open themselves up to being criticized by the public. You don't have to post how much you love or hate that person everytime someone makes a comment about them.
I disagree with Hollys decision to pull Nia out of that role. I think Nia is a joy to watch but Holly annoys me. Point blank period no need to debate.
The way Holly pulled Nia was professional. She didn't raise her voice, she didn't cry, she didn't throw a temper tantrum. She told Abby straight up and Abby couldn't argue with her because of how Holly presented herself. You can agree or disagree with the decision Holly made, but you cannot say she did it in a hysterical way. Team Holly.
Plus, it gave Peyton's mom the chance to prove that her daughter belonged on the team in a lead role right? Wasn't she the one who put her finger in Abby's face and ordered her to find her a place on the team? Well? And how did that turn out?

That is an example of the kind of Mother I never want to be. She totally turned me off and seemed like the worst kind of stage mother - not to mention, classless and clueless. Ugh.

It was a gross overreaction, and another terrible life lesson for her daughter (first was deserting her on the road trip) IMO which is the main point......
Academically she may be smarter than many mothers, but unfortunately she needs a education on how to teach basic life lessons to her daughter.
We will agree to disagree....
